Request a QuoteWhat Is a 3-Axis Servo Robot for Injection Moulding?
Futech IMM robots are designed for rapid and precise removal of moulded parts from the machine and placement at desired locations. They support arranging, stacking, quality checking, and in-mould label (IML) applications. Built with servo motors on all main axes and precision linear guide rails, our robots integrate seamlessly with Futech injection moulding machines and other brands.
Robot Series Overview
Choose between our Standard FSR Series for general material handling or the High-Speed FHS Series for ultra-short cycle applications.
FSR Series 3-Axis Servo Robot
The FSR Series is Futech’s robust standard-range robot built for exceptional payload capacity and a large working envelope. Ideal for general pick-and-place, stacking, and material handling on medium to large injection moulding machines.
- High payload capacity for larger parts
- Wide vertical, crosswise, and swing stroke options
- Open-type telescopic arm design
- Servo-driven 3-axis motion
- Cycle time down to 2.8 seconds
- Suited for containers, closures, and industrial parts
FHS Series 3-Axis Servo Robot
The FHS Series delivers a balance of speed, precision, and compact design. A single arm with double-stage telescopic construction and open-type frame makes it the preferred choice for thin-wall and high-volume packaging where every fraction of a second counts.
- Minimum take-out time of 0.6 seconds
- Optimized for 3–6 second mould cycles
- Compact footprint for limited workspace
- 3 to 5-axis servo system options
- Payload up to 10 kg on larger models
- Ideal for lunch boxes, cutlery, and thin-wall products
How the 3-Axis Motion Works
Each axis is independently servo-controlled for smooth, repeatable movement inside and outside the mould area.
Vertical Axis (Z)
Lifts and lowers the arm into the mould to grip the part and retract clear of the platens. Vertical stroke ranges from 650 mm to 2200 mm depending on model.
Crosswise Axis (Y)
Moves the arm horizontally along the face of the mould for precise positioning over the cavity. Crosswise stroke ranges from 800 mm to 2400 mm.
Swing / Traverse Axis (X)
Rotates the arm in and out of the mould area to place parts on a conveyor, stacking fixture, or secondary operation station. Swing stroke up to 3500 mm.
Key Features & Engineering
Built for reliability on the production floor with components chosen for speed, rigidity, and long service life.
Servo Motor Drive
All main axes are driven by high-performance servo motors for precise positioning, smooth acceleration, and programmable motion profiles.
Linear Guide Rails
High-speed linear guide rails ensure low-friction, accurate linear movement with minimal vibration during rapid pick-and-place cycles.
Aluminium Alloy Beams
Structural beams are manufactured from high-rigidity aluminium alloy for a strong yet lightweight arm that supports fast motion without deflection.
Open-Type Telescopic Arm
The open-frame telescopic design reduces overall height and allows faster entry and exit from the mould area — critical for short-cycle production.
Double-Stage Arm
Telescopic double-stage construction extends reach without increasing the robot footprint, maximizing working range on the shop floor.
Flexible End-of-Arm Tooling
Compatible with pneumatic grippers, vacuum cups, and custom tooling for diverse part geometries including thin-wall containers and preforms.
Automated Production Workflow
From mould opening to finished part placement, the robot handles repetitive tasks so operators can focus on quality and machine monitoring.
Mould Opens
Robot receives signal and enters the mould area on programmed path.
Part Removal
Gripper or vacuum tooling picks the finished part and any runner if required.
Place & Stack
Part is placed on conveyor, into a box, or stacked at a defined position.
Ready for Next Cycle
Robot returns to home position before the mould closes for the next shot.
